# Time to Market

> Expresses the organization's ability to quickly deliver new capabilities, services, or products.

The goal of looking at Time to Market (T2M) is to minimize the amount of time it takes for the organization to deliver value. Without actively managing Time to Market, the ability to sustainably deliver value in the future is unknown.

## Key Questions

Organizations need to continually re-evaluate these questions for Time to Market:

1. How fast can the organization learn from new experiments?
2. How fast can you learn from new information and adapt?
3. How fast can you deliver new value to customers?

## Why Time to Market Matters

Speed of delivery directly impacts an organization's ability to:

* Respond to market changes and customer feedback
* Validate assumptions quickly through experimentation
* Outpace competitors in delivering value
* Reduce the cost of delay on valuable features
* Build customer trust through reliable delivery

Organizations that can deliver quickly are better positioned to learn from the market and adapt their products accordingly.

## Sample Metrics

| Metric | Question It Answers |
| - | - |
| Mean Time To Repair | Can customers rely on your ability to remove defects quickly? |
| Release Frequency | How often do your clients get updates? |
| Lead Time | How long does it take to get a new feature to a customer? |
